Question:  What are frame tents?
Answer:  Frame tents are made of vinyl that is stretched over an aluminum frame.  Since frame tents have no center poles, the underneath of a frame tent is completely open.  Since minimal staking is required, frame tents are ideal for use on cement, patios, decks or any place where staking poses a problem.

Question:  What are pole tents?
Answer:  Pole tents are made of vinyl that is supported by perimeter poles and center poles.  Pole tents require the use of stakes around the perimeter of the tent.  Pole tents require an extra four to five feet on every side of the tent to allow for staking.

Question:  Should I rent a frame tent or a pole tent?
Answer:  The answer to this question really depends on your needs.  If you are trying to fit the most people underneath one tent, a frame tent would be the best option.  If you are trying to cut costs, a pole tent would be the best option (frame tents are generally more expensive due to the labor involved in setting them up).  The type of tent you choose depends heavily on where you would like to place the tent (pole tents require an extra four to five feet on all sides for stakes).  Our staff is always prepared to help you choose the tent that will best fit your needs.

Question:  How many people can I fit underneath each tent?
Answer:  The amount of people really depends on what will actually be underneath the tent.  If you intend on having only people sitting underneath the tent, you can refer to our tent capacity chart to determine the approximate size of tent you will need.  If you intend on having a dance floor, bar, head table, etc., it would be best to contact one of our staff members for a size recommendation.

Question:  Will AAY'S come and survey the site before we decide on a tent?
Answer:  Yes, we will come and measure the site and make a recommendation on the size of tent that will fit.

Question:  Is there anything I have to do after I have ordered a tent?
Answer:  Yes, you must call and get a utility locate to locate any underground utilities.  We will not set up a tent if this has not been done.

Sides

Question:  Do you carry sides for tents?
Answer:  Yes, we carry solid sides, windowed sides and screened sides.  Solid sides are great for private events.  Windowed sides are excellent for creating a more "upscale" appearance.  Last but not least, screened sides are ideal for hot days (the mesh material allows fresh air to flow through the tent).

Question:  Will sides protect us from the elements?
Answer:  Sides will protect you from rain and low winds.  It is unsafe to stay underneath a tent when there are high winds and extreme weather.  We recommend evacuating the tent in the event that lightening and high winds approach (remember: tents are temporary structures).

Air Conditioning/Heating

Question:  What do we do in the event of hot or cold weather?
Answer:  We do not currently rent air conditioning units.  However, we do carry two different types of heating units.  The first type is a tent heater.  This unit sits on the ground and blows warm air into the tent.  This heater is run on propane and comes with a thermostat.  Our other heaters are patio heaters.  These heaters also run on propane and work well in smaller tents.

Flooring

Question:  Do you rent flooring for underneath a tent?
Answer:  Yes, our flooring is constructed out of 3/4" plywood.  We can create any size you want.  Every year we do a floor underneath a 40x100 tent.  When considering flooring, you want to choose a site that is level.

Carpeting

Question:  Do you rent carpeting?
Answer:  Yes, we carry two different types of carpeting.  Our first type of carpeting is a plush carpet (colors: grey and green).  Our second type of carpeting is astroturf (color: grey/black).  The astroturf is ideal for outdoor events while the plush carpet is ideal for indoor events (but not limited to).

Dance Floors

Question:  What size dance floor will I need for my event?
Answer:  The answer to this question depends on the number of people at your event.  Here is a general equation to figure out the size of dance floor you will need.  Take the number of guests and divide that by 4.  Take this quotient and multiply it by 10.  This product will give you the square footage of the dance floor you will need (note: our dance floor comes in 4'x4' sections).

Lighting

Question:  Do you rent lights for underneath the tent?
Answer:  Yes, we carry a few different types of lights for tents.  We carry string globe lights, double quartz lights, halogen lights and street lamps.  We also rent chandeliers by request.
